Distance

A poem by Josiah Findley

Every day I think of you.

And every single day I

Imagine what we could go and see.

I want to, yet we can’t.

The distance travelled just to

Have a 3-hour drive to wait

I just don’t want to wait,

And I try to remind you,

that every drive I make to,

Feels too long for I

Because the drive just can’t

Show the one I come to see

Every drive excites me to see

But it also makes me wait.

The length says I can’t,

But I want to be with you.

The number of miles that I,

cross for it to be us two.

The lines of traffic just to

make memories for us to see,

is so worth the time. So, I

cannot wait

to see a smile that you

put on your face. I can’t.

Even though the miles say we can’t

I keep driving and follow the path to

The exciting endpoint of you

I want you to see

That Each moment in my eye

is with you and I cannot wait

I

Can’t

Wait

to

see

you.

With my eye fixed on you,

even when I can’t see,

I cannot wait for us two.
