I’ve dreamt

in melancholia

for ages

upon ages,

fleeting tears

spent on ashes

and lost time

desperate,

yearning

for change,

you appear

before me

I stand

in the presence

of your ambience

reaching

for the light,

grasping

at the mere idea

of you

and only

you

yet you feel so far

and almost venture

even further away,

dreaming yourself

of ending

your sorrows

the light

you reached for

slowly fades

into an

empty promise

but you find

me,

waiting

in the

background

as the

disenchantment subsides

our eyes meet

once more

hand in hand,

we both awake

and rise

from our beds

of slumber

to dream of anything

but melancholia
